EV Charging for Apartments, Condos, and HOAs

Residents are buying EVs faster than buildings can add outlets. We design garage charging that scales with demand, bills each resident accurately, and does not require a costly service upgrade on day one.

Why it works at multifamily & high-rise

  • Load management lets many chargers share existing electrical capacity.
  • Per resident billing and unit level reporting through QCharge.
  • Phase the build. Start with a handful of stalls and expand as adoption grows.
  • Amenity that supports rents, renewals, and condo resale values.
  • Board and HOA ready proposals with clear cost, revenue, and timeline.

What it costs

Garage retrofits typically run $4,000 to $9,000 per station when ports share a conduit run, and load management usually avoids a service upgrade that would otherwise add six figures.

Project timeline

Board or ownership approval package in one to two weeks, permitting four to eight weeks, installation phased over several days per garage level.

Common questions

Do we need an electrical service upgrade?
Usually not. Networked load management shares available capacity across ports by throttling and scheduling sessions, which lets most buildings add chargers within existing service.
How do residents get billed?
Each resident authenticates at the charger and is billed per kWh or per session through the software, with unit-level reporting for management. The building does not absorb the electricity cost.
Can we start small and expand?
Yes, and we recommend it. We design the conduit and panel capacity for the full buildout, then install ports in phases as adoption grows so early capital is not stranded.

What we typically install

  • QAC2-BC dual port for shared garage rows
  • QAC2-BR single port for deeded and assigned stalls
  • Networked load management to avoid a service upgrade

Incentives

Many utilities fund make ready infrastructure in multifamily garages, and federal credits apply in eligible census tracts. We handle the applications.
